Role of PFE binary in LS1012a

Hi,

We are using LS1012a to design our custom board. So we what to understand the functional role of packet forwarding engine. We are referring "Packet Forwarding Engine.pdf" document to understand the functionality. But it we are not getting the exact functionality.

So please help us to understand PFE

Hello Minal Nemade,

LS1012A users a hardware packager forwarding engine to provide higher performance Ethernet interfaces.

The device includes two Ethernet ports. Both Ethernet ports support SGMII.
