What does PTN5150 expect to see on the USB side (CC pins) to detect the following modes?
We are running in UFP mode and may not have the DFP/ charger on the other end of accessory or cable. Is it still possible to detect one of the above accessories if it is plugged by itself into UFP?

Dear Igor,
yes, that is correct. I would recommend you to purchase OM13584 PTN5150A-PTN36043 USB Type-C CC Logic Evaluation Kit

So would I need to bounce between UFP and DFP modes or stay in DRP if I want to be able to charge in one
case and detect accessory in another?

Tested with EVK and if I leave it in DRP mode it pulses CC ins and detects DFP and UFP nicely. Thanks!
Dear Igor,
if the PTN5150 is working only in UFP (Upstream Facing Port), the CC1 and CC2 are connected through the internal pull-down resistors to the GND.
Port exclusively consumes power. The CC1 and CC2 can detect only the voltage sources in the UFP configuration, it cannot detect a connection of any cable without a voltage source.
