Is there any way to change the settings stored in the internal flash (f.ex. the emulated EDIDs) over AUX while the chip is in I2C slave mode?
Hello,
Any updates here? I am also wondering if the EDID can be programmed thru I2C-over-AUX channel and if YES, what else is needed ( additional NXP software, or any special additional hardware ) ?
Thanks
Hi,
Are there any updates on the above posted question?
Hi PTN3460 is built in a configuration table in internal SRAM, which allows user to program seven EDID and 128 configuration registers through M/S I2C-bus. Please find the link for Application note AN11128 “PTN3460 Programming detail. |
I am well aware that the configuration can be changed over M/S I2C.
But I want to know if it is possible to do this over AUX.
Hi,
I am afraid that you can't ,you can only over Flash to AUX tool to update the PTN3460 firmware.
It was pointed out to me that section 8.3.9 of the PTN3460 data sheet says that it should be possible to program the EDID over AUX:
Given that EDID is specific to panels, PTN3460 enables system integrator to program EDID information into embedded memory through DP AUX and I2C-bus interfaces.
Is that an error in the data sheet?
It is IIC Over AUX operation not IIC and AUX.
Can a standard EDID programmer be used?
