Hi,

I am going to do CAN communication using TJA1145 for this project.

I understood from the datasheet that TJA1145 enters STANDBY mode when powered on, and Tx/Rx does not work at this time.

At this time, I understood that in order to enter the mode where CAN communication is possible, the MC value must be set through SPI communication.

That said, CAN Tx/Rx via the TJA1145 seems impossible without SPI communication.

If possible, I would like to implement a circuit that enables CAN communication using TJA1145 without SPI communication.

Can't TJA1145 do CAN Read/Write without SPI communication?

Best regards,

Inseok

Hi Inseok,

Your understanding is correct, the Normal mode can be selected from Standby or Sleep mode via an SPI command only, so the SPI communication is mandatory.

Best regards,

Tomas
