I am using :

McuXpresso Version 11.4.0

SDK 2.10 for MIMXRT1024

tried to use a simple hello world example and after keeping it for execution in debug mode for about 10mins the hardware error pops up.

How to resolve this issue?

Was there ever a solution to this problem?  I am having the exact same problem with the same development board.  Am even using an external 5V 2A power supply in case there was a problem with the USB 3.0 power.  I have a TI development board for the AM243x which has worked great for 2 weeks using a similar USB debugging port and had no problems.  Now trying to evaluate the RT1024 to see if we can use that processor instead and all of the projects have the same problem where they load fine and run but then intermitantly get the Hardware Transfer Error.  Don't even have to do anything but wait a bit and it will occur.  Have also tried the USB 2.0 ports on the computer (Dell, Windows 10 x64 fully patched).

I am using MCUXpresso IDE v11.6.0 [Build 8187][2022-07-13] .  The program continues to execute after you click OK as it has probably lost control of it.  In looking around the forums for other boards it suggests updating the OpenSDA/DAPLink application firmware (bootloader is the latest).  This board has 0246 which is the latest listed on the NXP web site.  The mbed site shows 0256 as the latest but only has it for the rt1020 and rt1050.  Tried to load the rt1020 and got an error type:transient and it would not accept it when holding the reset button at power up and mounting it as a disk.    The sample programs work and always load and start fine, it is while they are running you get the error message making debugging difficult.

Firmware on the board which is brand new:

# DAPLink Firmware - see https://mbed.com/daplink

Hi @anshun ,

I made a same test. But I didn't see this problem. Could it be a power problem or a USB driver problem? Can you test on other computer?

For anyone following this thread I had the same problem.  Eventually my board got stuck in maintenance mode due to a bad program and installing different firmware for the debugger resolved the problem of both the maintenance mode and transfer failures during debugging.  In the below link I detailed how to do an update:
