Hi,

I need to use uVision5 IDE with a ulink-me debugger to program and debug using the LPC824MAX dev board. Is there a guide for the connections/set up? I am checking with KEIL as well... Please let me know if you have any guides or advice on how to make this work...

So I think I have things set up correctly. I am able to download to flash, but I cannot debug the LPC824max using ULINK-ME and uVision5. So close yet so far away...
Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Holder,

The LPC824MAX board user manual covers this topic.  In the past, NXP has not provided user manuals for the demoboards so not everyone is aware it exists, but we plan for more documentation to help out.

At this page, you find the manual in "Design Info" section.

P5 is the 9-pin header next to the Reset button, and has silkscreen label.  THis is compatible to the uLink/ME, connect it here before doing the following:

There are two ways to use an external probe.
1) When JP1 is closed (jumper fitted), the on-board debug probe is held in reset, and an external debug probe can be connected using the P5 connector. JP1 is not mounted at manufacturing, so you need to install a jumper manually.
2) The Reset button can also be held down at board power-up to prevent the LPC11U35 booting up as a CMSIS-DAP debug probe.  Hold down Reset while you plug in the USB cable to power the board, then release Reset and connect using uVision debugger.

Note: The mbed serial device will not enumerate when using an external debug probe.

I see a few comments about external debuggers on that page. I'm not sure what "P5" is. Can you explain?

The LPCXpresso824-MAX board can be used with either the built in CMSIS-DAP debug probe, or with an external probe.
