I notice TI provide stellarisWare library for their stelleris arm MCU. the library is well designed and is very easy to use.does freescale also plan to develop the library for kinetis?

This is a frustration for me as well...

Since there was no answer from Fresscale, I would assume the answer is "no".

Hi

I am interested in knowing what users are really looking for in terms of supporting software for the Kinetis.

- freescale provides a kit of sample code for most peripherals on the K40 and K60 for CW and IAR (in the kit's notes it is defined as being various "bare-metal" example projects [KINETIS512_SC])

- freescale also provides complimentary OS, TCP/IP and USB stacks (which would cost up to $100'000 if they needed to be purchased)

- also a touch-sensing software suite (TSSSW) [this is the only package which is grouped under 'library']

- plus a driver suite (Processor Expert - PE_DRIVER_SUITE)

- as well as example projects built into CW

StellarisWare software (from TI) is also a set of functions to control peripherals on their chips, together with example projects.

What makes StellarisWare so much better and what is freescale missing with their support?

Regards

Mark

That is just a personnet opinion, but i don't like much PE like tools. It is for sure more flexible, but very hard to set up all the registers. I like much more a very good structured lib with tons of examples. However, maybe if i giv more time to PE i can get used to it.

I can understand the frustration.....

It took Freescale 3 months via support tickets to actually acknowledge that the clock code for CW10 was broken (didn't address errata 2448).

It took awhile before CW was even supported.   I think the issue was more of being able to find information.    I think everything is there,  its just tougher to find.

Here is another example:    There are a couple USB examples in the Kinetis_SC.    But it took me searching the forums for awhile to realize they have a full USB stack (under the health care stuff) that is more comprehensive.
