Customer is asking whether OSEK currently supports or will support MPC5516 dual-core controller. f so, will OSEK support threading to take advantage of the dual execution cores?
Can someone clarify this, please?

The OSEK/VDX standard does not allow us to build a dual-core OSEK OS. The same is true for the current AUTOSAR standard, which is a successor of OSEK. It is possible that some future version of AUTOSAR will cover the multicore systems.
 
Nevertheless, we have in our plans for the next year the development of AUTOSAR-compatible OS that takes advantages of dual-core architecture of MPC5516. Please be aware that AUTOSAR OS is fully compatible with OSEK standard.

AUTOSAR 4.0 Specification for Multi Core OS is in review phase, will be released end of 2009. Freescale has started to prepare a release based on that spec.
