Hello,

half and a month ago, I order the evaluation board EVB9S08DZ60 for MC9S08DZ60 microcontroller. Until the shipping came, I downloaded and installed the CodeWarrior Special Edition v 5.1. for HC(S)08 in order to knowing the application. After that, I registered the product and all worked perfectly until last wednesday.

Due to the problems I had last wednesday, I decided to uninstall the CodeWarrior, wich I downloaded from the website, and install the CodeWarrior that came in a CD with the EVB9S08DZ60. Both are the same version and edition, but I thought that perhaps it would be a possible solution.

I have uninstalled the downloaded CodeWarrior and when I' go to install the new CodeWarrior, a lot of error messages appear with the text "Internal error 2908", and several letters below.

I don't know what is the problem, can you help me please?

Thanks

Asking google for "Internal error 2908" turns out that a lot of apps have this problems for some users, including MS applications like MS Office.
So it looks like on your PC, the MS installer service has a problem when installing CW V5.1 :smileysad:.
Things you could do:
- try to install it as different user. If this is due to a per user registry setting, this may help. I remember another user where this did actually help in his setup (not sure if the same problem)
- google a bit for "Internal error 2908"
- collect more info. Which app is showing "Internal error 2908"
- I guess you get actually more info than just "Internal error 2908", or? Normally the content of windows error messages can be copies to a text file with pressing Ctrl-C
(there is no indication in any UI that this is possible, so one has to know).
- advanced: there are some apps out to collect the information about what is beeing used.
So you can collect with

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/processmonitor.mspx

all files and registry entries an application accesses. But this will create a lot of data, so try the other things first.

Hi, Tom, I'm sorry but I didn't save the license.dat file.

Hi, Curt, I've tried to install the first CodeWarrior (wich I downloaded from the web) too and it doesn't work either.

Thanks

Hi jesortsan.

I have had a similar (not identical) experience.  Have you/can you try downloading the software again?  The CD that came with my DK was old and did not include a number of critical patches that were in the download version.

I am new to Freescale, so not a reliable helper.  You will get help here though, from many nice people.  Be patient!   We will watch and learn.

Cheers,
Curt

When you did your de-installation, did you save your license.dat file?
