Unable to see video on FSL gnome - please help!

Hi all,

I'm using fsl Gnome release on imx233. I build it with all gstreamer plugins and fsl multimedia codecs and libs.

totem plays the audio, but no video on screen. If I use gplay it plays both video and audio smoothly. But I want to use my device standalone, and hence need to launch it from the device using the tough screen.

Please, any hint would be appreciated.....

Aren´t you using Ubuntu rootfs from FSL site? I supposed you was.

Yes, I suppose Totem is using default video sink, I only don´t know which video sink is the default one =P

For screen size, I mean the totem window dimension. Try to use totem maximized.

What do you mean by Ubuntu binary? .... (i'm using imx233 on a custom board btw.)

My screen resolution is 320x240, (3.5" TFT)

The fsl command line player shows almost the same log, but it plays smoothly rendering high quality video!

It is decoding movie too but this is not showing on screen. I think the issue is on videosink totem uses. Do you know which video sink totem uses?

Is there some new Ubuntu binary you can donwload?

Another thing I just remembered. How small is your totem screen? I know some codec (in fact, I don´t know if it´s for decoder or video sink) cannot handle very small windows screens (I thinks it´s because the resize ratio for IPU)

Hi Daiane,

I connected my device to a PC rs-232 terminal and got the following log when I launch totem using the GUI on device. I opened from there a 3min mp4 video (MPEG-4, AAC), which plays well with 'gplay' on another rootfs.

     < I can hear the audio clearly, but all I can see is a black window on the LCD.>

Open totem from some terminal and copy here log you get.
