For the i.MX RT1171 and 1172 which do not have the additional M4 core, how much is the total on-chip SRAM please and how is it allocated?

I think it has 2MB total?

But from what I can see the total dedicated OCRAM is 1.25MB and TCM remains the same as RT106x (512KB) which still leaves a further 256KB.

I think there might be 128KB ECC cypher RAM available as OCRAM if you are not using ECC? But even with that it still doesn't add up to 2MB total.

thanks

Hi Nick

I can't confirm this since the arrival of my EVK has just been delayed by another month.
However my understanding is that the 1171/72 have 512k Flex RAM (same as, and compatible with the 106x).
They also have 1.5M OCRAM starting at 0x20200000 and ending at address 0x2037ffff.

The first 256k of this would be shared with the M4 core in the 117x parts that includes it but is available for exclusive use by the M7 core if not.

The OCRAM area is sub-divided into regions that can be used for ECC of OC- and FlexRAM (controlled by the programmable MECC64 unit) but if the ECC function is disabled it is simply 1.5M of RAM storage space like OCR2 in the 106x, but 3 x bigger.

The OCR partition of the FlexRAM sits on top of this, also in the same manner as in the in the 106x, but instead of at 0x20280000 (after 512k OCRAM2) it is at 0x20380000 (after 1.5M OCRAM2).

Regards

Mark

Thanks Mark - that's a lot of OCRAM.

Be good to see what this is like in the flesh.
