We have an LCD display which runs at HD resolution of 1080x1920 interfaced via MIPI. Currently it's connected to an iMX6 dual core processor via a parallel-to-MIPI bridge (because the iMX6 MIPI interface does not support the LCD's display resolution). Our testing has revealed that we only need a single processor and have disabled one of the cores to save on power consumption. To save on costs, I'm looking at the solo or dual-lite chips to see if they could be used for our purposes (they are pin-compatible, according to the feature set).
According to the product summary pages for both solo and dual lite;
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=i.MX6DL#
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=i.MX6S
both chips only support display resolutions upto 1366x768 (thus, not suitable for my purposes).
But, according to the "iMX6 Solo/Dual lite Applications Processor Reference Manual" , section 38.1.2.1.2.2 Display Interface (pages 2793 - 2795) mentions,
For synchronous access with one cycle/pixel, this enables, e.g (including 35% blanking
intervals)
• 1080p (1920x1080) @ 60 fps

i.MX 6Solo/6DualLite Applications Processor Reference Manual, Rev. 1, 04/2013
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.
Chapter 38 Image Processing Unit (IPU)
• WSXGA+ (1680x1050) @ 60 fps
• The combined rate for the two ports is up to 240 MP/sec
The interface includes the following additional features:
• Screen size: up to 4096 x 2048 pixels, programmable by software.
• Scan Order: progressive or interlaced
• Synchronization
• Programmable horizontal and vertical synchronization output signals (for
synchronous access)
• Data enabling output signal
• Software contrast control using 8-bit programmable pulse-width modulation (PWM)
Two dedicated PWM outputs are provided
So, I'd like some clarity on this matter - do the solo/dual-lite processors support 1080 HD resolution? If not, what is the datasheet referring to?

Hello Abraham,
Yes, both the i.MX6S and i.MX6DL support 1080p
Hi SerigosSolis,
How to configure 1920x1080@60hz programmatically ?
i have converted the disp0 signal to hdmi using tfp410 dvi convertor, now how to configure the setting for hdmi display.
in DTS or driver file.
Regards,
Sumanth
Thanks for confirming. :smileyhappy: I'm passing this on to my superiors.
Happy,
Abraham V.
