ok, i was going to get an I.MX QSB but i realized that if i was to get a QSB i would need pretty much all add-on boards to make anything really useful,

i am ultimately going to build a smartphone to beat the Galaxy S2 to death with a big stick.

1, is the I.MX QSB the correct platform to start with ?

2, if not, which platform would you recommend ?

3, how expensive is the full bundle, to build my smartphone ?

thank you very much for taking the time to read this

BTW: i'm at the beginning with Linux, & eager to start

and thank you for replying

For $199 you can get this: MCIMX28LCD - it's a small touchscreen LCD that works with the QSB. Otherwise you can just plug in a VGA monitor and USB keyboard and mouse and have a development system. There's an HDMI card for $49 as well.

Good luck!

If you wanted to get your hands dirty the QSB is a great platform. If you wanted to build a system similar to a Galaxy S2, you might want to get on of those imx6x developer kits.

The full QSB bundle is 150 for the dev kit, to get a screen I believe it's 500 dollars extra.
