Hi everyone!
Can smb help?
i have a braded unit with ubuntu 13.04 onboard and EOL support from manufacter.
BoardID: MX6Q/SDL-SabreSD. 2GB Ram onboard,
inside is old 2013 uboot without "stop load" function. it flashed to spi separately. partition with uboot mount in system with rw support.
I'm going to flash it by this manual https://boundarydevices.com/programming-emmc-on-i-mx-platforms/ and try pre-compilied ubuntu 18.04
I found uart and connected to console
so here is question:
Is it possible to use pre-assembled uboot for this platform https://boundarydevices.com/wiki/bd-sl-imx6/ (from wiki boundarydevices) instead of original? i think there are ohther boardid but hardware is identic
Your blog is great, congratulations on your great work!
it was not the best idea. got brick and waste time for repair. sabre light u-boot even not started on sabresd
provided links were given to make decision: what actual board in hands - Sabre SD or Sabre Lite
(as uboot logs may be misleading). Based on that you can proceed with flashing proper image.

Hi LLlypukag3e2010
one can try, however this manual is for https://boundarydevices.com/wiki/bd-sl-imx6/
board, not NXP "SabreSD", so in general there is chance that it will not work.

Hello, Igor. can you try to explain differences between that platforms?
as i see from description - they are almost similiar. main diference -2gb ram in my "SABRESD" instead 1gb in "boundarydevice". oh, one more thing - it's call "SABRE Lite" formerly.
https://boundarydevices.com/sabre-lite-name-change-bd-sl-i-mx6-built-to-freescale-sabre-lite-design/
main reason of question - i couldn't found jtag pins on my board, so in case wrong u-boot device just will be brick. and recover will be possible only with tl866...(
anyway, i'll share result of my experiment.
Your blog is simply amazing, congratulations on your great work! UPSers
Thank you so much for sharing such a useful information. I will definitely share this with others.
one can look at NXP i.MX6Q Sabre SD documentation
