Hi NXP Team,
Please find the test procedure:
1. Connect the board eth0 port to a Linux PC via ethernet cable
2. After one minute, check the ethernet interface using ifconfig
A random IP is seen for eth0 interface as shown below:
Is this an expected behaviour?
Thank you!

It is normal. When no dhcp, no IP assign to the board. Then it will set this 169.xx.xx.xx. You could set the IP to board manually.
You could connect the board to a router. So, it could get the IP from the router.
Yes, that is true !! When board is connected to a router, it will get IP from router.
But, when we connect our board to another board or laptop over ethernet, we see an IP is getting set in the range 169.xx.xx.xx.
We would like to know who is assigning this IP; is it NXP itself or the other end i.e lap/board? Does this happen since ethernet is expecting a dynamic IP when the link is UP?

Thanks NXP for the answer !
