imx7s booting from emmc - mmc2: error -84 initialising MMC card

Hi All,

I have an issue booting a custom imx7s board, 90% of the time I'll get the error: Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk1p2...
mmc2: error -84 whilst initialising MMC card. However it does seem to get to the login prompt after the initial dd of the Kernel and FS, but any time its ran after that it fails with the same error. What is error -84?

My build is fsl-community-bsp  -  krogoth ( Yocto ).

I've compared the custom board's partitioning with a development board ( warp7 ) which its based on and UMS side of things seem to match ( FAT32 0x0C and EXT4 0x83).

emmc has partitions settings which can be programmed internally

in emmc, for example please check below hints how to make user partition read-only
