i.MX8mP: RC side does not recognize EP side

Hello,

My goal is to set the i.MX8mP board to EP mode and access EP through the PCIe connection on the RC side (PC). I have successfully set the board to EP mode using setenv imx8mp-evk-pcie-ep.dts. Here is the boot environment configuration and the dmesg of the development board:

fdt_addr=0x43000000
fdt_file=imx8mp-evk-pcie-ep.dtb
fdt_high=0xffffffffffffffff
root@OK8MP:~# dmesg | grep pcie
[    2.810289] imx6q-pcie 33800000.pcie_ep: 33800000.pcie_ep supply epdev_on not found, using dummy regulator
[    2.829085] imx6q-pcie 33800000.pcie_ep: EXT REF_CLK is used!.
[ 2.835560] imx6q-pcie 33800000.pcie_ep: PCIe PHY PLL clock is locked.
[    2.842165] imx6q-pcie 33800000.pcie_ep: PCIe PLL locked after 0 us.

However, when I check with lspci on the RC side, I found that the new device is not recognized. The Device Manager in Windows 10 also does not show any new devices. My PCIe connection cable is like this:

I can directly power the i.MX8mP from the PC motherboard using the PCIe connection cable without the need for power from the board.

I have also referred to this article(https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/i-MX6Q-PCIe-EP-RC-Validation-System/ta-p... ), but the difference is that my board is from the supplier Forlinx, and it has a PCIe 3.0x1 slot on the baseboard.

Is this a problem with the connection cable or the PCIe power supply? How can I solve this problem?

Best regards.

Hello,

Unfortunately cannot comment much on this issue, since we cannot replicate this on our EVK, I would recommend checking if there is some communication going from your board to the host PC.

Also, I would recommend checking with your board supplier if there si some issues when using the connector you're using.

Saludos,
Aldo.
