Hello all!
I have just been able to boot my imx287 evk from the sd card with 2.6.35 linux. The eth0 is not working properly in it. the light of eth0 blinks periodically. I try to assign it a static IP address and UP it. But i notice that after assigning the IP adress the ethernet can not be set to up state. Here is my command line result
root@freescale ~$ ifconfig eth0 up
net eth0: PHY already attached
eth0: Could not attach to PHY
ifconfig: SIOCSIFFLAGS: Device or resource busy
Any body having any idea about this???? Do I need any configuration or what???
the result of ifconfig -a is shown in the attached file
Original Attachment has been moved to: imx28evk.txt.zip

So the problem was nothing more than power source. Initially I boot the imx28 evk from micro usb, it booted up properly but the power was not enough for proper working of ethernet.
Thanks Kirill for your interest. Hope you also had a good experience
Hello, Ali!
Sorry, but I not understand you. In your post with network configuration interface eth0 have UP state.
This is not normal if interface change state without command, but this is may be possible if second side link disable interface. Please recheck or change second side your network link.

can you measure the board current? I think this can be a proof.
Hello, Ali!
I think you have error in command, command should be ifconfig eth0 address up, e.g. ifconfig eth0 192.168.255.1 up .
Thanks Kirill for your reply.
I have tried this command as well. The ifconfig shows that the eth0 is up but the led of the eth0 is not blinking properly, i.e. blinking periodically not continously. Trying to ping from another host gives
destination host unreachable..
Any other suggestion
Hello, Ali!
Please post full output ifconfig and route and dmesg output with information about network interfaces , also you can check dmesg output on any errors linked with network.
Kirill here is the complete output of ifconfig..

eth0: Freescale FEC PHY driver [Generic PHY] (mii_bus:phy_addr=0:00, irq=-1)
Hello, Ali!
I not see any problem in your eth0 configuration and if you try ping host in 192.168.1.240/24 network I think you not should have any problem.
Another strange - interface eth0 not send and not get bytes. Please recheck patchcord and switch or network card on another side.
Because your board have second network interface you can try use it if primary not work.
Hey Kirill..
I just find out that the ethernet 0 interface does not stay up. after setting to up it goes down after a while and give the message that
Link is down
MDIO read timeout
Any suggestion now please????????
Thanks Kirill for your fast enough reply...
I am also amazed why doesn't it works. Let me change the power source and see what happens. this is all I can do because there is no other switch etc to be changed or reconfigured. I will let you know about the result..So be there..
