Hi,

I've been using the bootable image white paper as a reference for building a bootable image for imx8QM MEK.

Can .elf image files be used for generating flash bootable image files? Or we always have to convert them to .bin?

My understanding was that the only difference between .elf and .bin was that .elf had debug, symbol and other information.

Are there specific rules and limitations for elf/bin images to generate flash bootable images ? Example remove elf headers, etc.

Thanks
