Using an RT EVK's "freelink" interface to program another RT processor of custom board?

Can this be done? For example, using the RT1015 EVK, and removing jumpers J45 through J50, then jumping wire from those pins to the respective pins on my custom board -- then using J41 (USB port) to flash from MCUexpresso? I'll probably just power the custom board from another source, while keeping a ground connection between it and the EVK obviously.

Also, can someone explain what does the "freelink" interface even do and why it's there? I assume to program, but I wanna know more dets

Hi @solderballz ,

  You can remove J44-J50

J44-2->customer board POR_B

J47_1->customer board SWD_DIO

J48_1->cusotmer board SWD_CLK

Just make sure the on board RT is removed from the freelink, and connect your own board SWD to the freelink interface.

In fact, I think you also can use our MCU-LINK or MCU-LINK PRO directly to your customer board:

Wish it helps you!

Best Regards,

kerry
