Trustzone SMC call not working after rootfs is loaded (imx 6 board)

Did anybody encounter a situation where the switching between the non-secure and secure world works correctly, even after the kernel drivers load, but at some point, it just stops working, and the SMC call fails to go into the SMC handler? Or any ideas what might be causing this behavior?

The smc call is made when the processor is in Supervisor mode (already checked).

I'm using an IMX6 board, u-boot 2016 and linux 4.15.
