Hello,
I'm beginning development on the i.MX8M platform and I have a few questions. I got an MSC SM2S-IMX8M board from Avnet with the corresponding SMARC module.
Question 1 : As I understood, I must build Linux using Yocto and then burn it on a SD Card to use it. Yocto will also provide the SDK necessary to develop on the platform. Can you confirm that there is no IDE provided by NXP to develop on Linux on your family on i.MX8M ?
Question 2 : I would like to load FreeRTOS on the Cortex-M4 core of the board. Is that possible on this board or only on other members of i.MX8M family of boards ? If I can load it, do you have a procedure or something that explains how to do it ?
Question 3 : Can I use MCUExpresso to program on the Cortex-M4 of this board ? If no, should I use the SDK that you provides through visual studio code for example ?
Question 4 : Is is possible to completely shutdown Cortex-A cores and to wake them up through FreeRTOS on the Cortex-M4 core ?
I know there is a lot of questions but I did not find exact answers in your documentation. Thank you for help.
Best regards,
Question 1 : if you need IDE, maybe you can refer to the Eclipse IDE
Question 2 : pls download the SDK, and refer to the document in the SDK, which includes the detailed steps
Question 3 :pls refer to the document too, current supports IAR and GCC, not support Mcuxpresso IDE
Question 4 : yes, of course
