Hello,

I apologize for the delay.

Have you used UUU to download the Android image into the board? If yes could you please tell me the command that you used? Furthermore, if you are using an eMMC or an SD card. In the case of using an SD card. Which is the size of the SD card that you are using?

Best regards,

Diego.

Hi Diego,

Thanks for response.

Unfortunately, we are not able to use UUU tools for eMMC flash.

We were able to boot using SD Card (8GB/16GB). The same image, we used for eMMC flash via SD Boot using fsl-sdcard-partition.sh (with minimal changes e.g: /dev/mmcblk3 and part num's). Then we observed the "FirstStageMount" issue.

FYI, We kept all required images and scripts in userdata partition for eMMC flash. eMMC Size is 8 GB

Any inputs will be helpful to solve this issue.

Thanaraj.

Hello,

Are you telling me that you are not able to use the UUU tool for the eMMC card?

Try with the following UUU comand.

uuu_imx_android_flash.bat -f imx6qp -p sabresd -e

Whit that command. It should work. The problem probably is because the partitio_table.img is the incorrect one.

Hope this may help you.

Best regards,

Diego.

Hi Diego,

Thanks for response.

Yes. We don't have USB support to use UUU tool. Only the way we can flash via SD Boot to eMMC card.

if partition_table.img is incorrect, how its working for SD card boot?

Thanaraj.

Hello,

This is because the partition table depends on the size of the storage that you are going to use.

If your current storage does not fit with your partition table. You will get errors at the time you are mounting the partitions.

How are you copying and partitioning the eMMC memory?

Best regards,

Diego.

Hi Diego,

We are using partition-table.img (for 8GB) for SD Card and eMMC memory partition.

How are you copying and partitioning the eMMC memory?

First we are flashing SD card (normal way), then we are copying all the required (for eMMC) files and images and scripts to userdata partition by mounting. then we are booting board via SD boot, after boot we are running modified fsl-sdcard-partition.sh script in board shell prompt to flash into mmcblk3 (eMMC).

Thanaraj.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we cannot support this. Since the only tool that we have to download the image into the eMMC is UUU. What we do recommend is to use that tool. I apologize for the inconvenience this may give you.

Best regards,

Diego.

Hello,

I am also the facing same issue. I've tried both ways of flashing, the output is same.

Do you know the any other way, which might help in debugging the cause? So that we could fix it in the source code.

Regards,

Krishnandu

1. if boot from emmc, please remove your sdcard from the board firstly to see whether it helps.

2. check the dts to config the dev_xxx with the storage node you are using.

/ {
firmware {
android {
fstab {
/delete-node/ system;
vendor {

1. I'm using SD card for booting.

2. dts configuration for dev_sd is to correct node is:

fstab{

     system{

            compatible = "android,system";

            dev_sd = "/dev/block/platform/soc0/soc/2100000.aips-bus/2198000.usdhc/by-name/system";   //SD3

            dev_emmc = "/dev/block/platform/soc0/soc/2100000.aips-bus/219c000.usdhc/by-name/system";   //SD4

            type = "ext4";
            mnt_flags = "ro,barrier=1,inode_readahead_blks=8";
            fsmgr_flags = "wait,avb";

      }

      vendor{

            compatible = "android,vendor";

            dev_sd = "/dev/block/platform/soc0/soc/2100000.aips-bus/2198000.usdhc/by-name/vendor";
            dev_emmc = "/dev/block/platform/soc0/soc/2100000.aips-bus/219c000.usdhc/by-name/vendor";

            type = "ext4";
            mnt_flags = "ro,barrier=1,inode_readahead_blks=8";
            fsmgr_flags = "wait,avb";

      }

Hi Diego,

I referred the "AndroidTM User's Guide, Rev. P9.0.0_2.2.0-ga, 08/2019" doc and used "imx-p9.0.0_2.2.0-ga.tar.gz" release.
