Choosing 24MHz Crystal Oscillator for i.MX535

Hi,

What should be the Load capacitance of the 24MHz crystal oscillator?

The i.MX53 user manual (Page 32) states that, the crystal must be rated for a maximum drive level of 100 μW or higher and an ESR of 80 Ω or less is recommended.

The i.MX53 reference manual (chapter 79, crystal oscillator 24MHz), also does not mention about the load capacitance.

Can I get any help on this?

Hi,

Please refer to Datasheet (IMXCEC version E) Page of 149. I am pasting textt here.

( Due to XTALOSC automatic level controller, the power consumption depends heavily on the working frequency, C-load and crystal quality. The above results are achieved at a frequency 24 MHz, 10 pF load capacitor, 7 pF crystal shunt capacitor and 80 Ω ESR.)
