Is there any plan to support incomming Android 7 Nougat for the i.MX6?

Hi NXP,

Any update on an Android 7 release? Google already seems to be pushing 7.1 to Nexus devices in December.

Also Google certification on 6.0 ends on January 31st 2017, as far as I'm aware, so 6.0 is not realistic for new projects needing certification.

It looks that NXP likes to keep their plans in a secret..

Unlike previous informations the Android N7.1.1_1.0.0 for iMX6 has been released yesterday:

Hello Andy,

There is no public information on a potential Android 7 BSP release for the i.MX6. Come to think of it, I don’t think there is an official release date for Android 7either.

The Android 6 (Marshmallow) BSP was released not so long ago so unless you need features only to be available on Nougat I would recommend using Marshmallow.
