Dear all,

We have heard that 90 degrees rotation for Full-HD using IRT (ImageRotator) cannot be performed in i.MX6.

* It is described by this URL, for example. --> i.MX6 IPU and rotating a frame buffer

We expect that it is possible in QuadPlus.

Is it possible in QualPlus?

Best Regards,

George

Hi George

IPU module is the same in QuadPlus, so capabilities the same.

QuadPlus improved bus architecture and add/(fixed errata) some modules

for improving ddr performance

Best regards

Dear Igor,

OK, I understood.

Isn't there any way of rotating 90 " and displaying the Full-HD size movie from streaming?

Is it impossible in MX6 series?

Best Regards,

George

Hi George,

I tried the patch from Marco Antonio Segalla Cassol (Re: i.MX6 IPU and rotating a frame buffer) and I can rotate the FullHD HDMI output.

Though I don't know if there are any other limitations.

Dear Frieder,

You are wonderful !!

It had not tried, though I was also reading the thread.

However, I will try it like you.

Please let me know Kernel Command Line Option which you used.

Is the following correct?

"console=ttymxc0,115200 root=/dev/mmcblk2p2 rootwait rw video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1920x1080M@60,if=RGB24,ROTATE=4"

Best Regards,

George

Hi George,

I used this for the video parameter:

video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1920x1080M@60,rotate=4,if=RGB24

But it seems like it doesn't work on all screens. I have a HDMI screen that says "input not supported" if  rotate is between 4 and 7.

On a different screen all rotation options seem to work.

I haven't tested LCD and LVDS screens so far.

Best Regards

Frieder
