Hello,
on our product, we have panels which require full-hd timings (so 1920x1080). Only they are actually sliced to physically 1920x350. So 2/3 of the bandwidth is used for something not needed. Is there a way to reduce the framebuffer height, so reducing the needed bandwith, so increasing the refresh rate and performance? Only the IPU needs to output 1920x1080 towards the ldb. Everything before can be 1920x350.
Can this be done? I'm on kernel 5.4 with vivante drivers
Any additional input?
Hello woutervh,
The resolution of 1920x350 is not supported by current driver, you have to create this own driver.
Regards
Create an own driver for a resolution? How to do that? And will it indeed increase the performance compared to 1920x1080?
