Hi,

I was checking the MC1320xRFCUG document and saw that the SMA port is attached to the open side of the inverted-F antenna. Since the antenna design needs very careful steps, two questions arise:

- Was that done intentionally? I mean is it claimed that the open side of the antenna is free to be used?

- Is it also OK to place the SMA to the close side of the antenna (ground side)

About your question on the SMA connector, yes, it is ok to place it like that. Note that there is a 0 ohm resistor to select the inverted F-antenna or the SMA connector. You can use that design as reference.
