Sorry for the late reply on this topic.
This issue is a known issue specific to the Kinetis build tools (therefore, only people building with those targets should experience this issue). It will be addressed in future releases.
In the meantime, here is the best workaround:
Edit the "cwide-env" file which is located at: {install path}\eclipse\
Append the following line to the file (just use a text editor):
FLEXLM_BATCH= -add 1

I would like to add some more information on my previous post. I have installed the Special Edition of CW10.1 for windows (CW10_MCU_V10.1_SE). When I try to build one of the Kinetis example projects I get a Flexnet License Finder error saying that a license can't be obtained. The screenshot is attached. My understanding is that the Special edition of Codewarrior does not need a registered license and that a license file is installed during installation. My installation directory does not contain a license.dat file.
Has anybody else come across the same problem? I am trying to figure out if it is an installation problem or a bug in the special edition.
I am having the same problem. I guess it will never be solved The only solution is to remove this retarded CW and use IAR instead.
PS Just added "FLEXLM_BATCH= -add 1" to the eclipse config file, this helped. Decided to keep CW
