VR5510 FCCU Mon ASIL B Chip

Hi,

Can you confirm if the FCCU monitoring functionality is available on the VR5510 ASIL B chipset? It seems to be unclear to me from the VR5510 Safety Manual. Table 5 indicates that is is available but Table 9 indicates it is not available.

FCCU is available for ASIL-B version

Thanks Daniel but in the VR5510 Safety Manual User Guide on page 26 Table 9. 'Fail-safe OTP configuration' it show that the register entry to enable the FCCU monitoring is only available in ASIL D chips. Can you confirm that this is the case? If so then the table you are referring to is inaccurate?

The Safety manual will need to be fixed

For ASIL-D device, the address 24 register value is  0b’0000 1101  (Decimal 13), and for all the ASIL-B device , this value is 0b’0000 0001 (Decimal 1)

That means for both ASIL-B and ASIL-D devices , FCCU_EN_OTP are enabled.

So to confirm your saying the VR5510 Safety Manual document is incorrect and the FCCU monitoring is in fact available on the ASILB chipset?

Yes I have confirmed the Safety manual will need to be fixed

The Watchdog difference is noteable
