Hi Community,

I want to use SJA1110 to drive SGMII external phy and I need to write to the phy register via MDIO first.

So I think I need to set "SJA1110 SGMII" and "External", but I cannot set both at the same time in S32DS.

Is this correct, or how should I config it?

Thanks,

Ethan.

Hi @Ethan_L

PHY type "SJA1110 SGMII" only refers to the internal SGMII IP inside the respective SJA1110 ports. Thus, in your case, you probably have to choose PHY type "Generic" and PHY location "External". This way you can have access to the PHY via the SMI interface and configure the PHY accordingly.

Best regards
