We have added the FXLS8974CF to a new PCB design using the VSON10 package (SOT1615-3). However the distributer is offering us the FXLS8974CFR3, which uses the DFN-10 package, according to section 4.1 Ordering Options (table 2, page 2) in the datasheet.
Question: What does the suffix 'R3' stand for and is the DFN-10 package the same as VSON10 (SOT1615-3) ?

Hello David,
The terminology is confusing. Sorry for that.
DFN-10 is just a generic abbreviation for a 10pin DFN package. VSON10 (SOT1615-3) is (I believe) a more specific identifier.
What I can say is that FXLS8962AF, FXLS8964AF, FXLS8967AF, FXLS8974CF all have the same identical package.
The R3 is a reel designator. We are starting to standardize on R1 -> 1k reel and R3 -> 3k reel. FXLS8964AFR3, FXLS8967AFR3, FXLS8974CFR3 all are launching with only one reel size option (3k reel).
Best regards,
Tomas
