Hi All,

We are planning to develop custom board with the LS1043. Where we are try to introduce 2 DDR4 discreate component. ( individual has  512 Megb x 16) so total is 16gb (2GB size).

LS1043 DDR Controller 32 bit >> 16 bit wired to 2 DDR4 MT40A512M16.

Here, we have question regarding the performance impact on x8 vs x16 DDR4. As per few document calming that with x16 DDR4 throughput will impact system performance up to 10 to 15% compare x8.

Please let us know is it performance effect with LS1043 if we will go with x16 (16 bit data bus)?

Our application IP-PBX where the lots of IP packet traffic in/out across the multiple ethernet Port

Performance is very much dependent on the SW application and what type of transaction are used more often. in general the DDR bandwidth can be reduced going from x8 to x16, simply because x8 has 16 available open pages vs. x16 has 8 available open pages. the specific SW needs to be tested on the system to give you specific concrete results to determine the performance differences.
