clock schemes for Kinetis L

Trying to use the LDD functions in CW with PE features.  Need a slow delay such as 30 seconds or more [so using LPTMR] but also need very long delay to count the amount of time a product is on, lets say > 20 minutes for example, I am trying to use RTC.  How come it won't allow internal 32Khz as a clock source?  CW says hardware not capable of this.

I can't explain the design decisions made, but I recommend using SysTick with a 32 bit counter for this purpose.
