Using Freedom Board FRDM-KL05Z to debug a KL04 processor project

I am using Kinetis Design Studio Version: 1.1.1

I have a KL05Z-FRDM freedom board which I am using to debug a project using a KL04 processor.  I do not yet have my populated target board.

I have successfully generated code which runs fine on the KL05Z-FRDM and can be debugged, as a KL05 project.

I then create KL04 based project copying my main. file and my specific .h files to the KL04 project.  This compiles fine.

However when I come to debug the KL04 project the debugger objects with the message below:

Does anyone know if a KL04 based project can be debugged on a FRDM-KL05Z board?

You will need to modify your FRDM-KL05Z board (cutting/making traces).
