Hi,
I am using IMX6 quad processor and an Imager to capture the Images and video.
Do i need to use the video codecs as an interface between IMX6 quad processor and Imager or IMX6 Quad processor contains inbuilt codecs.
Can anyone guide from the below image which one would be the right way to process the image.
Hi Naveen
i.MX6Q allows second option as has VPU module described in
Chapter 69 Video Processing Unit (VPU) i.MX6DQ Reference Manual

Hi Igor,
Thanks for the reply so i understood I dont need to use any external video codecs for the Image process.
I need one more clarification from your end.
Actually I am working on Infotainment development and i wanted to know do i need to use any media decoder (To play songs from USB which supports MP3, MP4 format) for the audio processing or this is also inbuilt inside IMX6 processor.
Thanks!
Awaiting to your response.
Naveen.
Hi Naveen
audio codecs (these are software codecs) are included in NXP BSPs provided on
i.MX 6 Series Software and Development Tool|NXP
