mandatory challenges

As I understand each team has to participate at the mandatory challenges (Start-Stop, Obstacle Avoidance) before the final competition. What happen if the team could not accomplish successfully one of these challenges? Would not be allowed to attend the final competition?

The mandatory participation at the challenges helps drive the level of the competition upwards and provides the opportunity for each team to win additional prizes. If a team does not reach the expected result during the challenge, it does not change their status on the race finals. Racing finals are independent from the results of the challenges. I hope that makes it clearer.
