Hello!

I am currently using 2 i.MX 8mp evaluation kit boards and 1 LS1021ATSN switch.

And for a simple test, I made a small network using them as below.

h1 <eth0> - <eth2> switch <eth1> - <eth1> h2

The static IP addresses I gave for each of the interfaces are as below.

h1 eth0 : 192.168.2.101

switch eth2 : 192.168.2.202

switch eth1 : 192.168.2.10

h2 eth1 : 192.168.2.5

I did ping tests for the links between h2 - switch and h1 - switch. And for the link between h2 and the switch, the ping works well. However, for the link between h1 and the switch, the ping fails.

I cannot find out the reason why it doesn’t work. So, can you please help me?

Thanks all, in advance.

Thank you!

Hello,

I can help you troubleshoot the ping failure between h1 and the switch in your network setup. Here are some steps you can follow:

1. Double-Check Cable Connections:

  • Ensure the cable between h1's eth0 port and the switch's eth2 port is securely plugged in at both ends. Try a different cable if available.

2. Verify IP Address Configuration:

  • Double-check that the IP addresses you assigned are correct:
  • h1 eth0: 192.168.2.101
  • switch eth2: 192.168.2.202
  • Make sure the subnet mask for all devices is the same (e.g., 255.255.255.0).

3. Check Switch Configuration (if applicable):

  • If your LS1021ATSN switch is manageable, log in and verify there are no port blocking settings on eth1 or eth2.
  • Some switches require explicit configuration for ports to forward traffic. Consult your switch's documentation for specific steps.

By following these steps systematically, you should be able to identify the cause of the ping failure and establish a successful connection between h1 and the switch.
