Hello,
we have developed and tested a proto board based on the RT1170 MCU. On the proto board the BOOT CFG pins were pulled down/up via external resistors.
Since we are developing the production version of the board, we want to reduce component count and PCB real estate.
Is it possible to tie the BOOT CFG directly to GND or VCC without using the external pull down/up resistor?
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Thank you so much for your interest in our products and for using our community.
Taking into account that you are developing the production version of the board it is recommended to determine the boot configuration with the on-chip fuses and then boot mode inputs can be disconnected. (For more detail, please refer to Table 9. Boot configuration of MIMXRT1170HDUG and Chapter 10 System Boot of IMXRT1170RM)
And just to clarify, you cannot tie the BOOT CFG directly to GND or VCC without using the external pull down/up resistor.
Hope it helps you.
