Thanks for your interest in NXP MIMXRT series!

But the good news is that our colleague implemented a register-based PWMX example using the board RT1170-EVKB, and I'm attaching the project here for your reference.
Note:
1. RT1170-EVKB J26 pin2 is the PWM2_X0 output.
2. RT1170 all FlexPWM interface can support the PWM_X output.
3. To one PWM, the PWMA, B X should use the same frequency.
