I having trouble debugging my IMXRT1050-EVKB dev board with MCU-LINK and MCUExpresso IDE

All software has been updated to the latest versions.

See attached image for my connections and setup

Dev Board is power external power supply and J1 has pin 1 and 2 shorted

J32 and J33 are open

Project builds fine, and if I remove the MCU-LINK board and use the USB to debug all is good too.

The issue that I get the Wire Ack Fault - target connected? error (see attached image)

Can I get the following confirmed please

  • What are the jumper like settings needed to get this to work.
  • Have I set it all up correctly?
  • Is the MCU-LINK OK for the IMXRT1050-EVBK?

Hi @trailerman ,

Please stop your operation immediately, you are totally wrong, you connect to the on board debugger chip, that is used to connect the on board K20, not the RT1050.

The RT1050 debug interface is this:

It is the JTAG interface, you need to find a convert board to match the MIMXRT1050-EVKB on board JTAG interface.

When you use the external debugger, you also need to disconnect the on board debugger, remove J32, J33.

Best Regards,

Kerry

Hi I'm also facing issue debugging my imxrt 1050 evkb with mcu link.
My bord version is sch-30168 rev a1.
I'm using j21 to connect to the mcu link.
I'm powering up using j9 and connected j1 to 2-3.

Hi @trailerman ,

So, when you use the JTAG, it works now?

In fact, I have tested that, it works OK with MCU-LINK. You need a switch board which matchs the board big JTAG interface.

Best Regards,

Kerry
