multi-touch limit on Sabre board?

Is there any particular reason why only two fingers are tracked by the touchscreen on Sabre i.MX6Q board? We see that with both Linux and Android images.

There is no particular reason. The HW supports more than 2 touches, however the SW delivered only enables 2. You can  modify the driver to enable more than 2 touches.

I have debug down to driver level, but only 2 id was received from i2c. and idea?

one more question, is there any place I can find the chip datasheet? I can not find anywhere on the internet.
