We have a custom imx6ULL board which is a 4 layer board (about 110x130mm) with ground plane, ESD protection on all the IO connections (USB, dual Ethernet, 4 serial ports), but when we perform an ESD event on the front panel, the processor is resetting.
We have tried replacing the power supply, and slugging the POR pin to try to prevent the reset, butit just seems to move the vulnerable position of the strike to reset.
Has anyone else experienced a similar effect on their boards?
Any advice or suggestions welcome.
Hi Ian
one can try to follow general esd protection guidelines:
