iMX6ULZ uSDHC issues on kernel 5.10

Hi,

I connect uSDHC1 interface to communication with WiFi module based on Marvell Avastar 88W8801 chipset, the firmware is broken on kernel 5.10, constantly connected and disconnected. I looked at source, it seems it only developed and tested to kernel 5.4:

https://source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/linux-imx/tree/?h=imx_5.4.70_2.3.0

Are you sure the imx works for kernel 5.10?

Thank you.

Kind regards,

juppiter

Hi Jupiter

seems it is not supported, supported chipsets can be found in Table 60. On-board chips and external solutions for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support Linux Guide document provided on

Hi igor,

Thanks for your response. Sorry, I was not talking about Linux development, I was refer to the NXP firmware in NXP git source https://github.com/NXP/mwifiex-firmware.git. I submitted bug report to the repository, but no response.

Specifically, I was refer to the NXP firmware mrvl/sd8801_uapsta.bin, the version is W14.68.36.p204

The developers:

Ganapathi Bhat <ganapathi.bhat@nxp.com>
Amitkumar Karwar <amitkumar.karwar@nxp.com>
Avinash Patil <avinash.patil@nxp.com>
Sharvari Harisangam <sharvari.harisangam@nxp.com>

WLAN (SD8801) firmware version: W14.68.36.p204
MWIFIEX VERSION: mwifiex 1.0 (14.68.36.p204)

The SD8801 firmware constantly sent disconnect event to kernel driver.

I can look at mwifiex source in kernel repository to find problems that driver received a disconnect event from sd8801 firmware. Given the mrvl/sd8801_uapsta.bin is a binary file, there is no source available for me to look at the problem further, could you please provide support for your developers to fix the bugs?

We spent million dollars to develop our project based on your components and firmware, we believe you are a prestigious company, you can provide good support services, but our million dollars project has been stalled, we cannot finalize the development, and we cannot start production until NXP can fix that problem. Could you please provide me options including we can pay your developers to fix your firmware bugs?

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Jupiter

Hi igor,

Thanks for your response and link, I filled the support several times in the last 6 months, but no response. Are you sure it is active? It is your NXP hardware, it is your NXP firmware (no one has your source code except your engineers), how could anyone to fix your binary code issues?

Thank you.

Kind regardsm

Thanks igor. Given it is not a completed front end WiFi module, it needs to add RF front end interface, crystal, etc. How hard to integrate it and how stable it will be in operation? Can I have an email discussion with your AFE first?

Thank you.

Kind regards.
