Bare metal applications on the Cortex-A7 core of the MCIMX7ULP-EVK

Hi,

I am currently developing bare metal applications on the Cortex-A7 core of the MCIMX7ULP-EVK and have been having some issues with initial debugging via JTAG/SWD.

I have to stop at the uboot prompt to be able to download/debug my application.

Is there an available configuration of the boot options of the MCIMX7ULP-EVK that will allow me to download/debug an application via JTAG/SWD?

What is the most convenient way to download/debug code via JTAG/SWD?

Thanks,

Obi

Hello aghogho_obi,

We using the Realview ICE for debugging in bare metal and JTAG.

Do I have to stop the boot process during uboot to be able to debug/program the cortex-A7? Is there another way to do this?

Still waiting for a response on this....

Thank you, one question though:

What boot switch configuration or any other configuration of the MCIMX7ULP-EVK do you recommend for baremetal development on the Cortex-A7?

So far, JTAG/SWD is only accessible when I stop at uboot. When the MCIMX7ULP-EVK is in the USB Downloader mode, I cannot access the Cortex-A7 from JTAG/SWD. For other iMX boards, I can access JTAG/SWD in this mode.
