Hi:
I'm totally new to i.mx8 platform,I followed the yocto project guide and built a img with instructions below:
DISTRO=fsl-imx-xwayland MACHINE=imx8mqevk source fsl-setup-release.sh -b build-xwaylan
bitbake fsl-image-qt5-validation-imx
Then I burn it to SD card and it runs OK!
Before i.mx8 platform,I developed on BeagleBone(TI AM3358) and Jetson(INVIDIA) before,the official website will provide a full distribution like debian or ubuntu. So I can develop on that platform easiely.
But on i.mx8,it seems that the distribution is customized,it has not dpkg, apt-get or other pakage-management software.(Or I didn't find it,If so, I apologize..)
So...
If I want to install a software, even like gcc , whether the only way to install it is to download the *.tar package by myself and install it ?
Or is there a better way to develop on i.mx8 platform?
I'm not asking for anything, I just want to know the answer,thanks a lot!
Best Regards
downey
