Hi all,

I've been searching the net for an i.MX6 SOM which has an interface that can directly be soldered on a carrier board. Below is an example with a Samsung Exynos processor:

Samsung Exynos4412 ARM Cortex-A9 Quad Core computer on module BOARDCON

There are a bunch of standard form factors such as q7, uq7, etc. But I have not come across what I'm looking for.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello Durmus,

I wouldn't be able to recommend a specific SOM, but we do have several third party companies that have developed their own SOM.

I'm guessing you are looking for a mini-atx or a more standard factor?

Hello SerchMX,

Thanks for your reply. Mini-ATX, which is mainly a 15x15cm in size, would be too large for our cause.

What I'm looking for is about 70mm x 50mm in size that can directly be soldered on a carrier board from its all 4 sides. No edge connectors or board-to-board connectors.

I don't think there is a standard for that. I have come across with these kind of SOMs, but not one with an i.MX6 processor.

If those companies you mentioned have built a something similar, we might be interested in them.
