buildroot aarch64 config for g2d for i.MX8MM

We have buildroot setup for the i.MX8MM, and would like to add support for using libg2d, through package BR2_PACKAGE_IMX_GPU_G2D

However this depends on BR2_ARM_EABIHF, and hence is at odds with our aarch64 setup.

I see there is a year old patch that mentions only 32bit support for libg2d

Is this still the case? 

I see there are aarch64 compiled gpu drivers here (for i.MX6 and 7 according to the release notes)

The patch is already included in buildroot, bumping the G2D driver to 6.2.4.p1.2 - but it still excludes aarch64 support for the g2d driver. 

This puts the buildroot support for g2d a year out of date unfortunately.

Will the released imx-gpu-g2d-6.2.4.p4.0-aarch64.bin library support the i.mx8mm if we add this in? (noting the linux release notes don't specify the 8mm support).
