Writing image to SCM-QWKS-REV2 using MFG tool

I have been trying to use the MFG tool to write the stock image to the the eMMC on the SCM-QWKS board. I keep getting the following error:

UTP: sending Non-success to kernel for command $ echo 0 > /sys/block/mmcblk0boot0/force_ro.

I imagine my issue might simply be how the dip switches are oriented or if an SD card must be available for the tool to download the image. I have been able to load the linux image onto an SD card, however, I cannot on the eMMC. Is there any document specific to the SCM board? There are scripts available, but non write to the eMMC.

for eMMC one can look at i.MX6 SabreSD MfgTools script mfgtool2-yocto-mx-sabresd-emmc.vbs

there are some eMMC protection features described in

linux/Documentation/mmc/mmc-dev-parts.txt

one can try solutions on

i.MX6 and boot from eMMC - not working with MMC/eMMC config
