Using hardware acceleration in chromium 45

Hello community,

i am trying this for a few weeks now and thought i should ask around now.

I am trying to playback html5 videos in chromium on an i.MX6 device. The device is an advantech UBC-200. We build our own chromium, videos are playing back but they are lagging a lot.

We are using bitbake and the meta-fsl-arm layer, but we're using chromium 45 and made our own patches for it to support mp4 videos which is working.

The only problem we have is to use chromium with hardware acceleration from the gpu.

I would appreciate any tips or help i can get, thank you!

Hi Sebastian

one can look at sect.5.6.6 Chromium Browser on X11 and Wayland

attached Yocto Guide from FSL L3.14.28 BSP:

Board Support Packages (27)

L3.14.28_1.0.0_iMX6QDLS_BUNDLE (REV L3.14.28_1.0.0)

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=RDIMX6SABREBRD&fpsp=1&tab=Design_Tool...

also it may be useful to post on meta-fsl-arm mailing list:

Best regards

Hello and thank you for your answer,

I am currently using the Linux Kernel 3.0.35. Is this unsupported for video acceleration?

I will consider asking in the mailing list.
